Led by a qualified centre manager, our team of six kaiako is ethnically diverse, reflecting the cultures of the children and families we serve — including Mandarin-speaking teachers.

Meet Siksha Prasad
Centre Manager

Kia ora! My name is Siksha Prasad, and I am proud to be the Centre Manager at Flying Kiwi Preschool.

I hold a Bachelor of Education from Auckland University and have been working in early childhood education for the past 14 years. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with children of all ages, supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing in nurturing, inclusive environments.

Before joining Flying Kiwi Preschool, I spent almost 13 years at my previous centre, where I built strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Making the move to Flying Kiwi has been an exciting new chapter, and I am passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to learn.

I look forward to getting to know all of our wonderful children and whānau and being part of their learning journey.

Meet Lana Niu

Educator

Kia Ora, my name is Lana Niu and I am one of the teachers here at Flying Kiwi Preschool. I was born in South Africa, moved here when I was 9, and grew up here in New Zealand and I am now a citizen of this amazing country. I am a Fully registered teacher, and I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education.

I am a mother of a little girl who inspires me to be the best teacher I can be, here at Flying Kiwi and at home.

I believe children can do things for themselves and confident in taking charge of their own learning. I am also passionate about being kind and respectful towards others and role modelling this in my teaching. I love working with this age group and all the fun things we get up to such as messy play and art, which I am quite passionate about.

Meet Chao (Leslie) Zhang

My name is Leslie, and I am from Jiangsu, China. I came to New Zealand at the end of October 2023 and graduated from ICL Graduate Business School with a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education). Since December 2024, I have been working as an early childhood teacher at Flying Kiwi Preschool.

I am a passionate, dedicated, and creative teacher who values lifelong learning. I enjoy building positive relationships with children, supporting their learning and development, and creating engaging learning environments where they can explore, grow, and thrive.

Meet Rose Wilson

Educator

Hi, I'm Rose Wilson. I'm a passionate and caring teacher with four years of teaching experience in India, where I worked as a Kindergarten Teacher.
After getting married, I moved to New Zealand, where I am currently working as a Relief Teacher at Flying Kiwi Preschool in Henderson, Auckland.
I enjoy creating a warm, positive and supportive

environment where children feel happy, confident and encouraged to learn and grow.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy travelling, exploring beautiful places, taking photos, spending time with family and friends, and experiencing new things. I'm excited to continue growing as an educator and making a positive difference in children's early learning experiences.

Hi, I’m Renuka. I’m a friendly and caring person who enjoys meeting new people and helping others. I’m easy-going, hardworking, and always happy to learn something new. In my free time, I like spending time with my family and friends.
