Holi Story

Today the children at Flying Kiwi had fun celebrating Holi.

Holi is a Hindu holiday celebrating spring, love and welcoming positive energy back into your life.

Rooted in a sacred love story between two deities, one of the ways to celebrate is by throwing coloured powder!

So our tamariki got changed into white t-shirts and they let the celebrations begin.

The colours pink, blue, yellow, green and red being thrown up high in the air (and even at each other), really brought a sense of belonging and inclusiveness into the centre today.

We just love exploring different ways our multicultural community celebrates!
